Fashion Resale Database: 150+ companies
What does the fashion resale landscape look like? What kind of players are out there, where are they based, and when were they founded?
I put together a database of fashion resale companies to get a clearer picture of the industry. In this post, you’ll find some takeaways from the data, such as the type of companies operating in fashion resale and where they’re located. At the end, there’s a link to access the full database.
Most of the companies in the database fall into three categories:
B2B resale tools (e.g. branded resale solutions and listing automation tools),
Managed marketplaces (e.g. ThredUp and The RealReal),
Peer-to-peer marketplaces (e.g. Vinted and Depop).
The rest are grouped into reselling/crosslisting tools (e.g. Future Reference), aggregator platforms (e.g. BENI), and an ungrouped category, which includes for example wholesale solutions, platforms for charity stores, and swapping solutions.
The majority of companies are based in the US and UK, with France, Sweden, and Australia following.
Note: This isn't a comprehensive overview of the whole market. The data may also be slightly skewed toward Europe and North America due to my own knowledge gaps.
The database includes 38 companies founded between 2023 and 2025. These newer players are highlighted to get a sense of how the types of companies being launched are shifting.
Most of these young companies fall into the B2B category. Most of them are either working on automating the listing process for resale businesses, like Ribbn, In the Loop, and Circular, or building newer branded resale solutions, like Authentified, Diatome, and Brandback.
Other categories include reselling tools (e.g. Future Reference, Outset, and Carouge), peer-to-peer marketplaces (e.g. Bought and Relove), and an ungrouped category that covers things like sourcing platforms (e.g. Sourced By and House of Tell) and take-back solutions (e.g. Trashie and Tooused).

The full database lives in Google Sheets and you can access it here. The link is shareable, so feel free to pass it along or forward this email to anyone who might find it useful.
A company missing from the database?
This is a work in progress, and I’d like to make the database as complete and accurate as possible. If you notice a missing company that should be included, just send me a message and I’ll add it.
Note: The database currently doesn’t include online secondhand or vintage stores that don’t allow users to sell their own items, nor does it cover brand-owned resale stores. These two categories will be added later, so feel free to send tips for those as well.
